Ingredients:
Dates
Almonds
Dark chocolate OR dark compound slab
Chocolate wrapping paper
- De-seed the dates.
- Stuff each of the dates with an almond
- Chop either dark chocolate OR dark compound and place it in a clean and dry bowl. Place the chocolate bowl over another vessel with hot water. That's a method called double boiling. I usually close the chocolate bowl with a lid and let it sit for about 10 minutes or so. Then, I stir with a fork. Make sure that there are no lumps but a uniform melted chocolate.
- Let the chocolate cool.
- Dip a few stuffed dates in the chocolate bowl. Fish them out individually with two forks, ensuring that they are drained well.
- Let the chocolates set at room temperature.
- Wrap them with butter paper and foil as soon as they are set.
Note: 1. Do NOT mix chocolate and compound.
2. It's important to let the melted chocolate cool or the finished chocolate tends to lack the glossy look.
